Commissioning a web project
When commissioning a web project you'll have lots of questions for us, we hope this can answer a few of those straight away
Can I update my website?
It depends on your requirements. We'll generally build a CMS that enables you to update the data you require. The CMS will be flexible and can be extended in the future to adapt to your needs.
While "blog" systems like Wordpress and Expression Engine can work as a CMS these are often quickly outgrown as you try to adapt these to work in ways they were not originally designed for.
Who will host my website?
Typically we'll discuss with you the needs of your application and outline some hosting options. We can then setup the hosting environment and manage this for you.
We generally use virtual or dedicated hosting. We do not recommend hosting your application on a "shared" server.
Alternatively we can hand over the code to you so you can host this on your own.
What happens if there is a bug?
While we use automated testing and manual user acceptance testing, sometimes a bug wil slip through. If it does we will investigate and address this as soon as we are made aware of this.
Who will perform updates?
We know that when the initial development on your project is complete this is really only the beginning. As time goes by you'll want to make changes to the design or functionality and we'll be there to help.
Depending on your needs we can either perform additional work on an ad-hoc basis charged by the hour, or if you will need frequent updates you can retain our services to ensure we're on hand when you need us.
Will my website be number one on Google?
We will follow all current best practices to ensure the content on your website is as accessible as to search engines as possible. However search engine ranking is determined by many more factors than this. The most important of these being the content on your site.
If your creating the content on your site by yourself we can recommend some SEO professionals that can work with you to perform keyword analysis, help you with a content strategy and work on your marketing.
Will my website be responsive / work on smartphones?
Unless we have specifically stated otherwise all new websites created by us will be responsive and will work on smartphones and tablets.
We create websites using HTML5 and the latest CSS techniques to help us give users on smartphones and tablets to experience most suited to their device.
Which browsers will my website work in?

- Safari
